Hanson will vie for a roster spot on a very crowded Caps lineup. Over 42 career NHL games, the pivot scored three goals and nine points. He probably starts the season in the AHL.
With three career assists over 37 NHL games, Letourneau-Leblond holds limited fantasy value.
No reason to use the C word just yet. The Woodstock, Ont. native registered one assist in 11 games last season. The former Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds standout still holds a great deal of potential.
Boyce won't miss any time due to another broken nose. The gritty forward earned a spot last season with five goals and 13 points over 46 games. He likely holds very little fantasy value unless he increases his PIM dramatically.
Sounds like Brodeur's groin isn't bothering him at all. In an injury marred season Brodeur only won 23 games while posting his lowest save percentage since 1994-1995. Brodeur should be healthy moving forward so feel free to draft accordingly.
The former 30th overall pick must need more seasoning. Despres scored 13 goals and 41 points through 47 games with the Memorial Cup winning St. John Sea Dogs. His demotion speaks more to the depth of the big club opposed to his current skill level.
Havlat practiced in non-contact drills today, alongside his expected linemates of Logan Couture and Ryane Clowe. Havlat scored 20 goals and 62 points last season on the Minnesota Wild's first line. Expect those totals to only improve with a better supporting cast.
Sounds like Zibanejad could beat out Peter Regin and Stephane Da Costa for the second-line role. In 26 games for Djurgardens IF Stockholm of the SEL, Zibanejad scored five goals and nine points. He most likely sticks with the big club.
Certainly sounds like Kopitar is fully healthy. The Slovenian pivot scored 25 goals and 73 points last season. Feel free to draft him as early as the first or second round.
Jensen was selected this past summer as the 30th overall pick by the Canucks. He scored 29 goals and 58 points in his first season in North America. He likely returns to the Oshawa Generals for at least one more season.
Disregard our previous comment re: Opening Night. With a career high of 29 points (attained last season) Staal won't help your fantasy team as much as help Henrik Lundqvist and his teammates' plus/minus.
Boyle probably gets a look on that line before returning to centering Brandon Prust and Ruslan Fedotenko on the third line. Last season, the hulking center scored 21 goals and 35 points in his breakout campaign. His production could be a fantasy mirage but he was quite relevant last season.
With El Nino presumably playing on the top line, Parenteau takes a drastic hit in his fantasy value. The former 9th round pick scored 20 goals and 53 points last season while flanking Tavares most of the season. Considering 20 of those points came on the PP, keep track of his time with the man advantage.
Kaleta will try and play his first full NHL season after missing countless games over his 5-year career. His high end would be 10 goals and 100 PIM, keep that in mind if you need to plug a roster spot.
Doesn't sound too encouraging for the injury-prone Markov. Keep an eye on his progress as this injury could linger well into the regular season.
Eller should be on track to make Opening Night, or return shortly after. The former 13th overall pick scored seven goals and 17 points in his first NHL campaign for the Habs. Expect a pretty drastic uptick in production this season.
Following a successful AHL career which included 45 points in only 35 games last season, the undrafted pivot seems like a NHL player. The 27-year-old scored eight goals and 22 points over his first 43 games. He could have value in deeper leagues.
Good news for the day-to-day pivot. Gomez wants to bounce back from his worst NHL season. The 31-year-old could bounce back to the 40 assist and 60 point range but don't expect much more.
Sounds like Hecht could be out for a bit longer. Hecht only scored 12 goals and 29 points over his 67 games last season but has eclipsed 40 points seven times in his career. If fully healthy, a return to that range should be expected.
