Friedman will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday vs. Los Angeles.

Friedman will be the odd man out of the lineup on Tuesday as Carson Soucy (hand) makes his return to the lineup. Friedman played on Sunday, his first contest in three weeks, recording a -1 plus/minus, one shot, and one hit in 12:54 time-on-ice.

Mark Friedman
Kiviranta (maintenance) missed pratice Tuesday and is a game-time decision vs. Detroit on Wednesday.

Kiviranta has eight points (3G / 5A) in 48 games this season and has been limited to only one goal in his last 16. He played 11:02 time-on-ice in Monday's 5-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks and will be a game-time decision against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday.

Joel Kiviranta
O'Connor (maintenance) missed practice Tuesday and will be a game-time decision vs. Detroit on Wednesday.

O'Connor played 11:51 time-on-ice in Monday's 5-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks and will be a game-time decision against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. The 27-year-old O'Conner has 25 points (13G / 12A) in 57 games this season but has been held off the scoresheet in seven straight.

Logan O'Connor
Zary (upper body) has been placed on Injured Reserve.

With Zary sidelined due to an upper-body injury, the Flames recalled Matt Coronato from the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) on Monday. Zary has been effective with the Flames this season and has three points (0G / 3A), five shots, and six hits in his last four games.

Connor Zary
Carolina has placed Maxime Comtois on waivers with the intentions to assign him to the AHL.

Comtois must clear through waivers after signing with the Hurricanes on Monday before being able to join the club. The 25-year-old Comtois spent the last five seasons with the Anaheim Ducks, tallying 86 points (38G / 48A), 193 penalty minutes, and 373 hits in 210 games.

Maxime Comtois
Soucy (hand) will draw back into Vancouver's lineup on Tuesday.

Matt Irwin was reassigned to the Abbotsford Canucks (AHL) on Monday, making room for Soucy to return to the Vancouver lineup. Soucy has not played since suffering a hand injury on January 20th. A steadying presence on the blue line, Soucy has been limited to only 21 games this season due to an earlier lower-body injury and is five weeks into his original five-to-six-week prognosis. The 29-year-old has six points (2G / 4A), 21 hits, and 39 blocks this season.

Carson Soucy
Tanev (trade) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday vs. San Jose.

The Stars acquired Tanev on Wednesday by giving up a 2024 second-round pick, a 2026 fourth-round pick, Artem Grushnikov and a conditional 2026 third-round pick to acquire Tanev. Tanev is a rugged defenseman, who has racked up 171 blocked shots this season to go along with one goal and 13 assists (14 points) in 56 games. He should bring plenty of stability to the Stars' second pairing. He has missed two games since joining the Stars due to immigration issues.

Chris Tanev
Oettinger will start on Tuesday vs. San Jose.

Oettinger will start for the fourth straight game in a rematch against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. The 25-year-old Oettinger saved 21 of 23 shots (.913 SV%) in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Sharks on Saturday and has allowed two or fewer goals in three of his last four outings (3-1-0). The Stars enter action as sizeable -405 road favourites.

Jake Oettinger
Demko will start on Tuesday vs. Los Angeles.

Demko had the night off in the last game for the Canucks, a 2-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks, but will return to the crease in a divisional matchup against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. Demko has lost five of his last six, allowing four or more goals three times and posting an ugly .876 SV%. The Canucks enter action with even -105 odds on the road against a Kings club that defeated them 5-1 less than a week ago.

Thatcher Demko
Washington has re-claimed Matthew Phillips off waivers from Pittsburgh and reassigned him to Hershey (AHL).

Phillips started the season with the Capitals, was placed on waivers in February, claimed by the Pittsburgh Penguins, placed on waivers again, and re-claimed by the Capitals on Tuesday. The 25-year-old Phillips has five points (1G / 4A) in 30 games this season. He was automatically assigned to Hershey (AHL) after being claimed on Tuesday.

Matthew Phillips
Edmonton has placed Sam Gagner on waivers on Tuesday.

The Oilers signed Gagner at the end of October, but has been a healthy scratch most of the last month and has been placed on waivers. The 34-year-old Gagner registered 10 points (5G / 5A) and 48 shots in 27 games this season.

Sam Gagner
Talbot was the first goalie off the ice at Los Angeles' morning skate.

After a rough two-month stretch, Talbot has seemingly re-emerged as the go-to guy between the pipes for the Kings and will likely start for the third straight game. Talbot has won four of his last five starts, allowing fewer than two goals four times and posting a stellar .955 SV%. The Kings enter action with even -105 odds at home in a divisional matchup against the Vancouver Canucks.

Cam Talbot
Nichushkin (personal) appears ready but is undecided on whether he'll rejoin Colorado's lineup on Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Nichushkin has not played since January 10th before entering the NHL's Player Assistance program. He has missed 19 games and, after returning to practice last week, appears ready to rejoin the Avalanche on Wednesday but has stated he is still undecided on his return. Before his absence, Nichushkin was scoring at a torrid pace with 21 points (19G / 9A) in his last 15 games.
