With Conor Timmins (lower body) returning from a prolonged absence, Metsa will be the odd man out of the lineup as a healthy scratch. The 27-year-old Metsa has been effective in his first NHL season as a bottom-pair defenseman, recording six points (2G / 4A) and a +20 plus/minus in 38 games.

Eliasson was drafted 39th overall by the Senators in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and has earned a three-year, entry-level contract. The 19-year-old Swedish defenseman has eight points (2G / 6A) this season in 61 games with the Barrie Colts (OHL).

The Maple Leafs recalled Hildeby from the Marlies (AHL) earlier this week for precautionary reasons, but Anthony Stolarz (upper body) did not end up missing any time, resulting in Hildeby's return to the AHL. The 24-year-old Hildeby was solid in a stint with the Maple Leafs earlier this season, posting a 2.84 GAA and .912 SV% in 19 appearances (5-6-4).

DeAngelo exited Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks after only six shifts due to a lower-body injury. Adam Boqvist stepped up DeAngelo's absence and filled in on the Islanders' second powerplay unit. The 30-year-old DeAngelo has 33 points (5G / 28A) in 72 games this season.

The Sabres enter Wednesday's contest as -193 home favourites against a Boston Bruins team that played last night and lost 4-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Samuelsson was absent from practice on Tuesday and it is unclear what his status is heading into Wednesday's game against the Boston Bruins. The 26-year-old Samuelsson is having a terrific season, playing primarily alongside Rasmus Dahlin, tallying 39 points (12G / 27A) through 68 games.

Harkins exiting Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks in the first period after only three shifts due to an upper-body injury. The 28-year-old bottom-six forward has eight points (3G / 5A) in 44 games this season.

Minnetian was a fourth-round pick of the Dallas Stars that just completed his third year of collegiate hockey. The 21-year-old defenseman scored 11 points (2G / 9A) in 36 games this season with Boston College.

Kempe has been battling a lower-body issue that has made him a game-time decision on most nights over the past week.
