Wilson (lower-body) took full part in warmups and is expected to return to the Capitals lineup on Wednesday.

Wilson has not played since suffering a lower-body injury on January 3rd, but will return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Canucks. The 31-year-old Wilson is having a career season, with 42 points (22G / 20A) in 41 games. Even with his uptick in offense, he remains a hard-hitting presence on the ice, accompanying Matthew Knies (TOR) as the only players in the league with over 40 points and 100 hits (110).

Tom Wilson
Grubauer will start against the Islanders on Wednesday.

Grubauer has been excellent in recent weeks, his most consistent stint as a member of the Kraken, but he is coming off a performance where he allowed five goals on 30 shots (.833 SV%) in a 6-3 loss to the Utah Mammoth. Heading into his most recent loss, the 34-year-old Grubauer was sporting an impressive 2.14 GAA and .934 SV% in his previous 10 games (5-3-2). Seattle enters the action on Wednesday with even -105 odds at home against a New York Islanders team that is 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.

Philipp Grubauer
Sorokin will start in Seattle on Wednesday.

Sorokin has a league-leading five shutouts, including two in his last five games (4-1-0), and will return to the crease on Wednesday. Islanders fans were concerned about Sorokin to start the 2025-26 season after posting an ugly 3.74 GAA and .868 SV% in his first seven games (2-4-1), but he has been among the NHL's best goalies since, going 14-7-1 with a dazzling 2.11 GAA and .929 SV%. The Islanders enter Wednesday's contest with even -105 odds on the road against a Seattle Kraken team on a four-game losing streak (0-3-1).

Ilya Sorokin
Letang (upper-body) will not play in Calgary on Wednesday.

It's unfortunate timing for Letang, who recently saw an uptick in ice-time, including deployment on the top powerplay unit, because of an Erik Karlsson (lower body) injury. The veteran defenseman had been productive lately, tallying nine points (1G / 8A) in his last 14 games.

Kris Letang
Wedgewood will start against the Ducks on Wednesday.

Wedgewood was solid in his most recent outing, returning from an 11-day absence, saving 22 of 24 shots (.917 SV%) in a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals. That said, solid outings have become the norm for the 33-year-old Wedgewood, who has a 2.33 GAA and .914 SV% in his last nine games (7-2-0). Colorado enters the action on Wednesday as enormous -309 home favorites against an Anaheim Ducks team on a four-game winning streak.

Scott Wedgewood
Ekman-Larsson suffered a lower-body injury in Wednesday's game against the Red Wings and did not return.

Ekman-Larsson suffered the injury during the first period of Wednesday's game and did not return. The 34-year-old blue-liner is yet to miss a game this season, registering eight goals and 23 assists in 50 games. We should get an update on his status ahead of Toronto's game against the Golden Knights on Friday.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Vejmelka will start against the Flyers on Wednesday.

Vejmelka will be looking to continue a personal six-game winning streak when the Flyers come to Utah on Wednesday. The 29-year-old netminder secured his league-leading 23rd victory of the season in his last start, turning away 18 of the 21 shots he faced in a 6-3 win over Kraken on Saturday. He is in a great spot to keep the win streak alive on Wednesday as the Mammoth enter action at -175 on the money line.

Karel Vejmelka
Buffalo has signed Josh Doan to a seven-year extension worth $6.95 million AAV ($48.65M total).

Doan was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in the offseason and is having a breakout first season with his new team, earning a seven-year contract extension worth $48.65 million. The 23-year-old forward has 35 points (15G / 20A), 44 hits, and 109 shots in 49 games this season.

Josh Doan
Hughes (shoulder) has been placed on LTIR.

Hughes exited Monday's 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames in the second period because of a shoulder injury. He did not play on Tuesday and has now been placed on LTIR, meaning he will miss, at minimum, one month. The 22-year-old Hughes has 26 points (5G / 21A) in 49 games this season. The Devils recalled Colton White from Utica (AHL) in a corresponding move.

Luke Hughes
Wilson (lower-body) is a game-time decision in Vancouver on Wednesday

Wilson has not played since suffering a lower-body injury on January 3rd, but has been a full participant at practice since last Wednesday. He will aim to return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers but will ultimately have to wait for the approval from team trainers.

Tom Wilson
Thompson will start in Vancouver on Wednesday.

Thompson allowed three goals on 29 shots (.897 SV%) in his most recent outing, a 5-2 loss to the Florida Panthers, the latest loss in a string of concerning performances. The 28-year-old goalie is sporting a 3.22 GAA and .894 SV% in his last 11 games (3-7-1). Before that, he was among the NHL’s top goalies, with a stellar 2.01 GAA and .925 SV% in 24 games (14-7-3). The Capitals enter Wednesday's contest as -163 road favorites against a Vancouver Canucks team desperate to snap a season-worst 11-game losing streak (0-9-2).

Logan Thompson
Lankinen will start vs. Washington on Wednesday.

The Canucks are desperate to snap a free-falling 11-game losing streak (0-9-2) and will continue to rely on Lankien to help them get back into the win column. The 30-year-old Lankinen has a 3.23 GAA and .890 SV% during the team's winless skid, with a 0-5-1 record. The Canucks enter the action on Wednesday as +145 home underdogs against a Washington Capitals team that has been outscored 13-6 during a three-game losing streak (0-3-0).
