Martinek, 37, has appeared in 473 career National Hockey League games, including 466 with the Islanders. Martinek has 25 goals and 82 assists for 107 career points. He’s also appeared in 11 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with the Islanders. He has been signed to provide D depth while Lubomir Visnovsky recovers from a concussion.

Detroit selected Mantha with the 20th pick at this year's NHL entry draft. He scored 50 goals and 39 assists in 67 games with Val d'Or Foreurs (QMJHL) last season. He has been off to a hot start this year as well, 13 goals and 10 assists (23 points) in eight games (first in QMJHL).

The undrafted 21-year-old made his professional debut with Manchester at the end of the 2012-13 season after the completion of his 20-year-old season with the Oshawa Generals (30G-20A-50P in 65 games) and had signed a two-year contract with the Monarchs in April.

Seidenberg has played the last three and a half seasons with the Bruins appearing in 224 games, scoring 18 goals, 63 assists and a plus-45. The 32-year-old is a solid defenseman but is not fantasy relevant except for in deep leagues.

The 30-year-old was acquired by Minnesota on Trade Deadline Day from Buffalo last season. He tallied nine points (4-5=9) in 10 games after coming to Minnesota. Pominville will skate on a line with Mikko Koivu and Zach Parise as the Wild open their regular season tonight.

Dvorak was with the Hurricanes on a professional tryout. Dvorak split the 2012-13 season between HC Davos of the Swiss league and the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL, totaling seven points in seven games for Davos, and four goals in nine games with the Ducks. He will skate on the Canes third line with Riley Nash and Jeff Skinner.
Kobasew had been with the Penguins on a professional tryout. It looks as if the 31-year-old has cracked the opening night roster on the Pens third line. Kobasew has only 53 points in 200 games in his last four NHL seasons.
Blomqvist had seven goals, 33 points and 66PIM in 59 games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes last season. The 18-year-old adds to organizational depth up front. Blomqvist is huge, standing at 6-foot-6, 213 lbs.

Since being traded to the Maple Leafs, Kessel has scored 119 goals in four seasons. He has had three 30-goal seasons and 20 goals in the shortened season (on pace for 34). He is a one dimensional player, but it is hard to find a consistent 30-goal scorer so Kessel will remain the centrepiece of the Maple Leafs roster for the next eight years. In seven NHL seasons with the Bruins and Maple Leafs, he has 185 goals and 379 points in 504 games.

Gill had been in Flyers camp on a tryout basis. He had zero points in 32 games last season, he is not fantasy relevant.
Moser has spent the last five seasons with Langnau of the Swiss Elite League, posting 110 points (56G-54A) in 232 games. In 2012-13, the 6-1, 214-pound winger posted 21 points (10g-11a) in 35 games while serving as team captain.
Whitney, 30, was released from his tryout with the St. Louis Blues on Friday. He spent the past three-and-a-half seasons with the Edmonton Oilers and had four goals and nine assists in 34 games last season. In 474 games with Edmonton, Anaheim and Pittsburgh, the Boston native has 50 goals, 209 assists and 377 penalty minutes. Whitney was the Penguins' first-round pick (No. 5) at the 2002 NHL Draft.
Hansen has spent his entire career with the Canucks, collecting 131 points over 318 games in his six-year career.

Gilbert, 30, had three goals and 13 points in 43 games for the Minnesota Wild in 2012-13. He joined the Wild in a midseason trade the previous campaign after parts of six seasons with the Edmonton Oilers.

Boyes, who had 10 goals and 25 assists with the Islanders last year had a great camp with Florida. Boyes has been playing with Kris Versteeg and rookie Alexsander Barkov in the preseason, so it appears that will be a line to start the season. “He’s a scorer and he has to play with skill players, complementary guys,” GM Dale Tallon said. “Obviously we didn’t score very much last year. We need guys who can put the puck in the net and make plays. He’s one of those guys who can do that. “Tim is a proven winner who we are pleased to have signed,” said Panthers GM Dave Tallon. “He is a fierce competitor who brings to our club a wealth of experience including a Stanley Cup Championship, two Vezina trophies and a Conn Smythe. Thomas sat out the lockout shortened season but in 2011-12 he was 35-19-1 with a 2.36 GAA and .920 SV%. He should become the Panthers starter which gives him some instant fantasy value, but his ceiling is limited.
Stepan, who was a restricted free agent, had been sitting out training camp as contract negotiations with the Rangers were ongoing. He led the Rangers in scoring last season with 26 assists, 44 points and a plus-25 rating in 48 games. Stepan, 23, has not missed a game in three seasons with the Rangers. He has 140 points on 56 goals and 84 assists in 212 games.

The Sabres selected the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Russian defenseman with the 16th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. Zadorov, 18, has played in three exhibition games so far this season and recorded his first career goal in the game against Toronto on Sunday. “I think it’s great. It’s a big experience for me to play here in NHL exhibition games,” Zadorov told Sabres.com. “I’ve played three games and I think I did a pretty good job. I just want to try and make the team.”

It’s likely the Leafs blueline pairings are now set, with Franson expected to be reunited with Mark Fraser, a pairing that stuck all of last season. The 26-year-old set a career high scoring four goals with 25 assists (29 points) in 44 games last year.
