It's a tough blow for the Kraken captain, who hasn't played since suffering the injury on November 14th against the Blackhawks. The estimated timeline means we shouldn't expect Eberle to return to the lineup until late February at the earliest. Eberle was off to a decent start to his campaign, scoring six goals and adding five assists in 17 games.

Letang has missed Pittsburgh's last three games due to an illness and will be a game-time decision to return on Friday vs. Winnipeg. The 37-year-old is on pace for his lowest season totals since 2013-14 (22 Pts) with only two goals, six points and 47 SOG in 18 games played before his injury.

Hayes has missed the Penguins' last seven games due to an upper-body injury but appears to be nearing a return as he was a game-time decision on Friday vs. Winnipeg. Hayes was acquired by Pittsburgh in the offseason from St. Louis and has struggled out of the gate with only three goals, four points and a -8 plus/minus through 14 games played.

Kaprizov has been on fire lately and will be a sorely missed offensive contributor if he is not able to suit up for Minnesota on Saturday against the Calgary Flames. The 27-year-old Kaprizov is currently riding a seven-game point streak, scoring 13 points (6G / 7A).

Knies left Toronto's game vs. Vegas on Wednesday with an upper-body injury and will remain out on Sunday as the Maple Leafs host Utah. His presence will be missed throughout the lineup after he started the year with eight goals, 12 points and 36 SOG in 20 games played before the injury.

Thompson will not play on Friday but should have a chance to return on Saturday, per Sabres' head coach Lindy Ruff. The 27-year-old Thompson has been off to a terrific start to the 2024-25 campaign, with 18 points (11G / 7A) in 15 games, and could return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings.

Andrae has played 10 games with the Flyers this season, averaging 18:27 time-on-ice, recording three points (0G / 3A), 13 blocks, and 15 hits. Helge Grans, recalled from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL) on Monday, has been Andrae's replacement in the lineup.

His presence will be missed throughout the lineup after he started the year with eight goals, 12 points and 36 SOG in 20 games played before the injury.

Hayes was acquired by Pittsburgh in the offseason from St. Louis and has struggled out of the gate with only three goals, four points and a -8 plus/minus through 14 games played.

Ekman-Larsson was absent from Toronto's practice on Friday due to an illness and his status for Sunday is up in the air. Philippe Myers was recalled from a conditioning loan from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) as defensive depth in case Ekman-Larsson is unable to go. The Devils return to action on November 21st against the Carolina Hurricanes, and thankfully will have the services of Meier, who was day-to-day with back spasms. The 28-year-old Meier is averaging 17:24 time-on-ice and has 14 points (7G / 7A), 38 hits, and 63 shots in 21 games this season.

Pietrangelo was a surprise scratch on Thursday with his absence not being announced prior to warmups. Robert Hagg will draw into the lineup in his place.

Ovechkin exited Monday's game late in the third period after a knee-on-knee collision with Utah HC's Jack McBain. Ovechkin will be out 4-6 weeks with a fractured left fibula. Before the injury on Monday, Ovechkin had a two-goal game, adding to his impressive start to the 2024-25 campaign with a league-leading 15 goals. The 39-year-old Ovechkin was well on his way to surpassing Wayne Gretzky's all-time goal record (894), only 27 away, a feat that could be jeopardized due to missing extended time.

The NHL injury report is updated daily so that you can see the latest injury news ahead of puck drop in any of today’s matchups. Seeing timely updates to the NHL injury report can make a major impact on your daily fantasy sports picks and wagers on a particular game. All information provided on the NHL injury report is provided directly by the NHL and each respective franchise to ensure accuracy.
While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury. Some injuries are able to clear up in a matter of days, while others may take an athlete out of action for the entirety of a season.
