Expect Purcell to be replaced by BJ Crombeen.

Expect Purcell to be replaced by BJ Crombeen.
Filppula will be replaced by Cedric Paquette. Consider him day-to-day.
Cammalleri has not skated each of the last two days, so it looks like he will miss tonight's game with an illness... Not the face injury which he suffered in the Flames last contest.
Hertl has not played since December 19, when he suffered the injury on a hit by the Kings’ Dustin Brown. In 35 games, Hertl has 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points, playing primarily on the left wing of Joe Thornton and Brent Burns. Hertl was originally expected to miss the rest of the regular season, but he will be back for the final home game of the season and playoffs.
When the Blues take on the Stars tonight, they will be without six of their regular forwards. Sobotka suffered a lower-body injury on Thursday and is listed as day-to-day.
Roy suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's loss to the Wild. The Blues will be without six regular forwards tonight. Consider Roy day-to-day.
This is no surprise after Oshie had to be helped off of the ice yesterday. There is no word on how Oshie is doing, the Blues could be keeping him out for precautionary reasons with the playoffs next week.
Toews skated in Chicago yesterday and coach Joel Quenneville said that everything went well. The Hawks are still hoping to have Toews back in the lineup for game 1 of the playoffs.
Cammalleri was cut by a high-stick on Wednesday and is not on the ice at this morning's gameday skate. Ben Hanowski is holding his spot on the Flames' top-line which suggests he may be in the lineup tonight vs. Winnipeg. Cammalleri has 13 goals and 11 assists (24 points) in his last 20 games.
One of the knocks on Horton in recent years has been his inability to stay healthy. Including this season, he has missed 122 games over the last six seasons. To put that in perspective, he has missed 26.6% of regular season games played since 2008-09. In his first of seven years of a $37.1 million dollar contract with the Blue Jackets, Horton amassed four goals and 14 assists (18 points) in 35 games. Should Columbus advance to the Eastern Conference finals, Horton could be back in the lineup. If not… See you in 2014-15 Nathan.
Salo said he felt good after skating this morning, but will miss a second straight game with an upper-body injury. Mike Kostka will stay in the lineup with Salo still sidelined. Consider him day-to-day, he will be ready for the playoffs by the sounds of things.
We will get an update from coach Bylsma after practice. He missed Sunday's game with a lower-body injury, but returned two nights ago vs. the Red Wings.
Gustavsson is reportedly dealing with a minor issue and won't dress as the back-up tonight. Howard will be backed-up by Jordan Coreau who was recalled on Thursday.
Morrow suffered a foot injury in the team's morning skate, but the severity wasn't discovered until after he took pre-game warm-ups on Thursday. Morrow took a shot off his foot in the morning skate. He suited up for warm-ups several hours later, expecting to play, but experienced discomfort and returned to the locker room for tests that showed the injury is perhaps serious. The Blues will likely have to tap into their AHL affiliate for call-up help prior to tonight's game against Dallas.
Oshie was elbowed in the head by Wild tough-guy Mike Rupp. Oshie went down and took awhile to get to his feet. Rupp was assessed a match-penalty and will have a phone hearing Friday. The Blues are already without David Backes, so losing Oshie right before the playoffs would put a huge dent in their lineup. Consider him day-to-day until we get a more detailed report of his injury.
Zetterberg had back surgery on February 21. While skating is a positive sign in Zetty's return to the ice, the Red Wings are still unsure when he will be back. At the time of surgery, the original timetable was eight weeks, which would see him return around game 4 of the first-round. They will not be able to pinpoint a date until Zetterberg is able to push himself in full team practices.
Doughty has been battling an upper-body injury, no word if he has re-aggravated the injury or if this is just rest related.
Iggy has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but he will play on Thursday vs. the Jets. He has 30 goals this season, so make sure he is in the lineup.
Iginla skated this morning which is a good sign that he could be back tonight. The Bruins have three games left in the regular season, and they likely want to get Iggy back in there for a few games, so they don't have to just throw him out there in the playoffs. Iginla has 30-plus goals for the 12th straight (full 82-game) season.
Kelly played only one shift during the third period of the Bruins’ shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Kelly missed 22 games earlier this season after suffering a broken fibula during a Dec. 7 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has just nine goals and nine assists and is a plus-2 in 57 games this season. The Bruins recalled Ryan Spooner from Providence on Wednesday on an emergency basis. He’ll likely be in the lineup Thursday night against the Winnipeg Jets.

While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury. Some injuries are able to clear up in a matter of days, while others may take an athlete out of action for the entirety of a season.
