Beauchemin will miss his seventh consecutive game tonight after being injured on November 20 vs. New Jersey. From the sounds of what Bourdreau is saying, Beauchemin remains week-to-week at this point.
Komisarek was injured in Thursday's win over the Predators after playing just 4:14. His injury leaves the Hurricanes with five healthy defensemen although it appears that veteran Tim Gleason is nearing a return. His placement on IR means Komisarek will miss at least the next seven days.
Lupul has missed the last five games with a groin injury that he suffered on November 25 against the Blue Jackets. He was expected to miss two weeks so if he returns tomorrow it would be a few days earlier than expected, but his particpation in practice suggests that he should be good to go. Monitor his status during Saturday's morning skate.
McGratten is a tough-guy and is not fantasy relevant, if he is unable to play then the Flames will go with seven defenseman if Joe Colborne is also unable to go. Lane MacDermid and Derek Smith are the two players that would enter the lineup.
Colborne has skated in all 26 games since arriving in Calgary via trade from Toronto. He has averaged 13:01 TOI and has three goals and five assists with a minus-3 rating. If Colborne is unable to go, Lane MacDermid would enter the lineup in his place.
The Stars lost Daley early in the second period of Thursday night’s game in Toronto when he and Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk got tangled up while battling for the puck. Daley went down and then slid into the end boards. Daley had to be helped off the ice. He did not return to the game and the Stars said he had a lower body injury. “He’s got an injury that looks like it’s going to be a little bit of time,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “Our people will evaluate it, but I can just tell you that it’s going to be nothing that is going to be short-term.”
Hejda’s first-period collision in the corner didn’t look good, and obviously sending him home to Denver is not a good sign for the big veteran D who is having a real good year. Hejda joins Ryan Wilson as Avalanche D-men on the shelf right now. Expect Cory Sarich to slide back into the lineup tonight and for Colorado to make a roster move.
The Penguins already were deploying a somewhat diluted lineup, as Evgeni Malkin was held out of the game because of an unspecified injury that has led to him being listed as day-to-day. Dupuis' injury will require further evaluation, according to coach Dan Bylsma. Consider him day-to-day until an official injury report is released.
That adds to a list that already includes defensemen Radko Gudas (upper body) and Eric Brewer (lower body) as well as Brian Lee, who has missed the entire season with a knee injury. Victor Hedman also left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury. Consider Aulie day-to-day, regardless he is not fantasy relevant when healthy.
Thankfully the Lightning had seven defensemen dressed, because they also lost Keith Aulie on Thursday. It is and unfortunate injury for Hedman who had caught fire as of late posting four goals and four assists in his last nine games coming into Thursday. He is considered day-to-day and questionable for Saturday's game vs. Winnipeg.
Just 4:28 into the first, Boychuk was an unfortunate victim of a hit by Max Pacioretty. The Habs forward was called for cross-checking, but Boychuk laid motionless for several minutes before leaving the game on a stretcher. “Before he was transported to the hospital, he was able to demonstrate movement in all of his extremities," Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said. While further details haven’t been released regarding Boychuk’s severity (likely a back injury), head coach Claude Julien confirmed that the 6-foot-2 defenseman will travel back with the B's.
It was not an overly aggressive or reckless hit, but Boychuk went into the boards very awkwardly. It had the looks of a neck injury, but a full injury report should be available after the game. The Bruins are already with Adam McQuaid so Kevan Miller would enter the lineup on Saturday if neither defensemen can play.
Predators' GM David Polie was encouraged by the MRI results, but the Predators will remain without Rinne until mid-December. The emergence of Marek Mazanec has eased the pain of Rinne's loss, but they would love to get him back in their crease.
Eric Tangradi will draw into the lineup and play in Frolik's third-line left wing spot. Consider Frolik day-to-day.
You might remember the Maple Leafs trading the first round pick (that turned out to be Seguin) another first and a second to the Bruins for Phil Kessel. Since that trade there has been a lot of history between Seguin and the Maple Leafs. On top of that he was born 45 minutes away from Toronto in Brampton, Ontario. Since his four-goal game against Calgary on November 14, Seguin has just one assist in five games. He missed two games with the concussion, but will rejoin Rich Peverly and Jaime Benn on the Stars top line tonight.
Helm joins Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg as Red WIngs forwards on the shelf. Helm had been on fire scoring six goals and three assists in his last 10 games. Stephen Weiss will shift to centre between Justin Abdelkader and Daniel Alfredsson with Helm out. He will be re-evaluated on Monday.
Weber will wear a visor when he returns to action, whether or not that is Saturday in Washington remains to be seen. He will miss his third consecutive game tonight and should be considered questionable for the weekend, but monitor his status closely because if he plays he should be activated in all formats. Weber is tied for the NHL lead in goals by defesemen with seven.
Edler was injured in Tuesday's win over the Predators and will not play Friday. Andrew Alberts will suit up with Edler on the shelf. He has struggled this season posting just three goals and six assists with a minus-12 rating in 27 games.
Consider Garbutt day-to-day, no word on if he will be available for Saturday's game against Philadelphia. If Tyler Seguin (concussion) is available to go tonight he will replace Garbutt in the lineup, if not Travis Morin will slot in.
Handzus will miss his second straight game tonight, but could be return tomorrow vs. Anaheim. Jeremy Morin will draw into the lineup tonight.

While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury. Some injuries are able to clear up in a matter of days, while others may take an athlete out of action for the entirety of a season.
