The clot was identified during testing Monday, after Dupuis had complained of discomfort in his chest. “Pascal had a blood clot in his leg that traveled to his lung,” said Dr. Dharmesh Vyas, the Penguins’ team physician. "This is the second such incident that we know of for Pascal. The treatment is at least six months of blood thinners, during which time he will not be able to play hockey. Other than that, his condition is stable.” Dupuis previously was diagnosed with a blood clot in January 2014, shortly after he suffered torn ligaments in his knee. He was on blood thinners for six months while also recovering from surgery and rehabilitating his knee.

Sbisa is not taking part in line rushes this morning, which suggests that he will miss his fourth straight game with an undisclosed. With Sbisa out, Yannick Weber will remain in the lineup.

Maple Leafs’ head coach Randy Carlyle said that Lupul should go through two or three practices before returning to the lineup, so don’t expect to see him out there tomorrow, but maybe Saturday vs. the Red Wings. He has been out since October 28th.

The Stars prospect has had a difficult time getting his NHL career started on the right track. He was hampered by a sore hip to start the year and now this surgery will keep him out until the middle of March which will have him return for the final 10-15 games of the season. For re-draft leagues he is safe to drop, while in deep keeper leagues he is worth stashing away in your IR.

Barkov will miss Tuesday’s games with an illness and with multiple Panthers’ forward still out with injuries, they have recalled Rocco Grimaldi from San Antonio. Consdier Barkov day-to-day.
