Kostka has been out since since October 19 where he scored his first NHL goal. He is not expected to have a large offensive impact so he is not fantasy relevant as of right now.

Lupul missed the last seven games but is expected to return tomorrow and skate on the third line with Peter Holland and Nikolai Kulemin. Lupul will also replace Mason Raymond on the second power-play unit. Lupes has eight goals and seven assists in 22 games.

Antti Raanta will serve as the Blackhawks starter while Crawford is on the shelf and he will be backed-up by Kent Simpson. Two-to-three weeks will force Crawford to miss anywhere between 7-10 games.

Zidlicky was scratched on Saturday vs. New York, but will be in the lineup tonight in Columbus. Peter Harrold did not make the trip to Ohio so Zidlicky will draw in for him and pair with Anton Volchenkov. He has three goals and 11 assists in 30 games.

Lupul skated with Peter Holland and Nikolai Kulemin in practice this morning, so there is a good chance he returns against the Kings. He missed the last seven games with a grade 2 groin strain. Monitor his status during Thursday's morning skate.

Staal suffered the concussion in Saturday's loss to the Devils and could be sidelined for a lengthy period of time. Despite the concussion not being as serious as the last, it is a concussion nonetheless. Staal will likely land on IR as Michael Del Zotto and Justin Falk now appear to have permanent spots on the Rangers' blueline for the next couple of weeks.

Laich will miss his sixth consecutive game tonight and not participating in skates suggests that he is not getting any closer to a return. He had four goals and two assists in 25 games.

With Philipp Grubauer winning his start on Sunday and proving to be a capable backup, there is no reason for the Capitals to rush Neuvirth back. He will likely miss his sixth straight game tonight unless he is activated from IR after the morning skate.

Fiddler left Saturday’s game in the first period and did not return. “He’s going to be out with an upper body [injury] for at least this week,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “We’ll see where he is at the end of this week.” With Fiddler out, Ruff will have to shuffle his lines. He put Cody Eakin in Fiddler’s spot between Antoine Roussel and Ryan Garbutt during Monday’s practice, a move he made in Saturday’s game as well.

Michalek has missed the last nine games with a lower-body injury that he suffered in the first period of a game on November 14. He is a key minute-eater on the Coyotes blueline and his return would certainly help their blueline - they are 3-4-2 without him in the lineup. Monitor his status during Tuesday's morning skate.

Korpikoski will miss his ninth consecutive game with an upper-body injury that he suffered in mid-November. David Moss will continue to see an increase in playing time in Korpikoski's absence.

Doan did not play on Friday and will sit out at least one more game as he continues to battle an illness. The 37-year-old is having a tremendous start to the season, posting 12 goals and 23 points in 27 games. He could be available back in Phoenix on Thursday vs. the Islanders.

Morris missed Friday's game against the Canucks due to a family matter and won't suit up on Tuesday against the Avalanche either. The Coyotes next game would be Thursday, so Morris could be back in Phoenix when they take on the Islanders.
Kane will miss his fourth consecutive game as he continues to nurse a lower-body injury that he suffered on November 29 in Philadelphia. Jets head coach Claude Noel said that Kane remains day-to-day so monitor his status leading up to Thursday's tilt with the Avalanche.

Clowe said no timetable for when he'll play has been discussed, but that would be next step after a full practice. Clowe has not played in almost two months after being concussed on October 13.

Bickell has missed the Blackhawks' last 10 games after being injured in the first period on November 19 vs. Colorado. Bickell skated during Sunday's morning skate which suggests he is nearing a return, but his placement on IR allowed the Hawks to recall goaltender Kent Simpson. Bickell is eligible to come off of IR and play whenever he is healthy, however the Blackhawks would have to make a roster move in order to activate him.

Crawford suffered the injury on Sunday night while making a rather harmless looking save on Marcel Goc. The injury at the time looked quite serious, but it was reported this morning that the injury is not believed to be as serious as it might have looked. Regardless the team has recalled Kent Simpson and he will serve as the team's second goalie while Crawford is on the shelf. Chicago has four games this week, but there is no word yet as to how many Crawford will miss. Monitor his status when Chicago returns home for Wednesday's game against the Flyers.

Galiardi missed the last seven games but will play tomorrow if head coach Bob Harley inserts him into the lineup. Galiardi recorded one goal and five assists in 22 games.

This is great news for the Flames, because the rookie has been one of their best offensive players this season. He has nine goals and 15 points in 24 games. His 15 points has him tied for second on the team in scoring and fifth amongst NHL rookies. He is likely still at least a week from returning to the Flames lineup.

While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
