This is not surprising as Kane was doubtful to play tonight, but this guarantees that he will miss his third consecutive game. The Jets are 1-1-0 without him, consider him questionable for Tuesday vs. St. Louis.

Datsyuk will have missed seven games due to a concussion suffered November 23 on an elbow to the chin from Ottawa defenseman Jared Cowen. Datsyuk has skated a few times this week and said on Wednesday that he is symptom-free. He just needed a few good practices to get his conditioning back. Barring something unforeseen, Saturday’s home game against Florida will the final game he sits out. Datsyuk has a team-leading 12 goals, along with 11 assists, in 24 games.

“Today was a good day,” said Weber, who suffered the injury in a 3-0 loss to Edmonton on Thanksgiving night. “It was good to be back out there with the guys and skate with them and hopefully move forward going ahead this week.” Weber’s playing status will be determined this morning, coach Barry Trotz said. “When he gets up in the morning and we can do our meetings and all, I’m sure I’ll know at that point,” he said.

This is great news for Boychuk and the Bruins after what was very scary incident on Thursday. Boychuk will miss four-to-five games barring any setback. Kevan Miller is expected to dress until Adam McQuaid is ready to return to the lineup.

Shaw will miss his second straight game after being injured late in Tuesday's contest vs. the Stars. Monitor his status prior to Sunday's game. He has eight goals, nine assists and a plus-10 rating in 29 games.

Handzus missed the last two games with an illness but will suit up on the Hawks second line tonight. In 13 games he has one goal and three assists. Sheldon Brookbank is expected to be scratched with Handzus' return.
Dupuis was injured in Thursday's game vs. the Sharks shortly after he scored a goal. He did not return to the game, but will travel with the team and could be in the lineup tomorrow. Monitor his status during the Penguins' morning skate.

Kane is in danger of missing his third straight game, but you should monitor his status tomorrow, because he could improve significantly over the next 24 hours.

Malkin will stay back in Pittsburgh while the Penguins travel to Boston to take on the Bruins. Malkin is considered day-to-day and should be considered questionable for Monday's game vs. Columbus.

Daley will join Stephane Robidas on IR as top-4 defensemen that the Stars will be without for an extended period of time. Daley had a goal and four assists in the first 27 games this season. Jamie Oleksiak and Kevin Connauton will now be featured on the Stars blueline quite frequently over the next few weeks.

Garbutt missed Thursday's game in Toronto after being injured on Tuesday in Chicago. He has five goals and two assists in 21 games, with three goals and two assists coming in his last four games. He is not a viable fantasy asset.

Beauchemin will miss his seventh consecutive game tonight after being injured on November 20 vs. New Jersey. From the sounds of what Bourdreau is saying, Beauchemin remains week-to-week at this point.

Komisarek was injured in Thursday's win over the Predators after playing just 4:14. His injury leaves the Hurricanes with five healthy defensemen although it appears that veteran Tim Gleason is nearing a return. His placement on IR means Komisarek will miss at least the next seven days.
Lupul has missed the last five games with a groin injury that he suffered on November 25 against the Blue Jackets. He was expected to miss two weeks so if he returns tomorrow it would be a few days earlier than expected, but his particpation in practice suggests that he should be good to go. Monitor his status during Saturday's morning skate.

McGratten is a tough-guy and is not fantasy relevant, if he is unable to play then the Flames will go with seven defenseman if Joe Colborne is also unable to go. Lane MacDermid and Derek Smith are the two players that would enter the lineup.

Colborne has skated in all 26 games since arriving in Calgary via trade from Toronto. He has averaged 13:01 TOI and has three goals and five assists with a minus-3 rating. If Colborne is unable to go, Lane MacDermid would enter the lineup in his place.

The Stars lost Daley early in the second period of Thursday night’s game in Toronto when he and Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk got tangled up while battling for the puck. Daley went down and then slid into the end boards. Daley had to be helped off the ice. He did not return to the game and the Stars said he had a lower body injury. “He’s got an injury that looks like it’s going to be a little bit of time,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “Our people will evaluate it, but I can just tell you that it’s going to be nothing that is going to be short-term.”

Hejda’s first-period collision in the corner didn’t look good, and obviously sending him home to Denver is not a good sign for the big veteran D who is having a real good year. Hejda joins Ryan Wilson as Avalanche D-men on the shelf right now. Expect Cory Sarich to slide back into the lineup tonight and for Colorado to make a roster move.

The Penguins already were deploying a somewhat diluted lineup, as Evgeni Malkin was held out of the game because of an unspecified injury that has led to him being listed as day-to-day. Dupuis' injury will require further evaluation, according to coach Dan Bylsma. Consider him day-to-day until an official injury report is released.

That adds to a list that already includes defensemen Radko Gudas (upper body) and Eric Brewer (lower body) as well as Brian Lee, who has missed the entire season with a knee injury. Victor Hedman also left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury. Consider Aulie day-to-day, regardless he is not fantasy relevant when healthy.

While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury. Some injuries are able to clear up in a matter of days, while others may take an athlete out of action for the entirety of a season.
