There is no word on who will start tomorrow against the Coyotes, but should Fasth miss an extended period time again, expect Frederik Andersen to be recalled from Norfolk. Expect an update on Saturday.

There is no word on who will start tomorrow against the Coyotes, but should Fasth miss an extended period time again, expect Frederik Andersen to be recalled from Norfolk. Expect an update on Saturday.

Korpikoski will miss his second straight game. It was an unlucky time for him to get injured after scoring three goals and two assists in his last four games. Monitor his status prior to Monday's contest with the Predators.

Michalek will miss his third straight game after being injured on November 14. Michalek is not expected to miss an extended period of time. Consider him questionable for Monday at Nashville.

Beauchemin left Wednesday's game and did not return. This is a tough break for the Ducks blueline, who lose a 20-plus minute eater and plus-15. He is not expected to miss and extended period of time. Sami Vatanen has been recalled from Norfolk (AHL).

Bogosian missed his third straight contest on Thursday after being injured on November 15. His placement on IR is retroactive to the 15th, which means he is eligible to return whenever he is healthy. No timetable has been established, but he is considered to be closer to week-to-week than day-to-day.

Stuart skated again on Friday and was deemed fit to play on Saturday. Stuart missed the last 10 games with a hop injury. This is good timing for Winnipeg, as Zach Bogosian was placed on IR today with a lower-body ailment. Stuart is a rugged, physical defenseman, but is not much of a fantasy contributor. He has two assists in 12 games.

Backstrom suffered the concussion when he was run over by Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri, the hit resulted in Kadri being suspended for three games. Backstrom has fallen behind Harding as the WIld's starter and will remain the back-up upon his return. No timetable has been established for Backstrom's return.

MacKenzie has been banged up all season, but is not fantasy relevant.

Wisniewski will be a game-time decision but it sounds like he will not play and Tim Erixon will enter the lineup. Wiz has been strong for the Jackets this season, posting two goals and 16 points which has him tied for sixth amongst NHL defenseman through 22 games.

Calvert will play for the first time since October 10 after undergoing surgery on his abdomen. With Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik out, this is a small bright spot for the Blue Jackets. Calvert is an undersized pass-first forward who will play on the third line if Derek MacKenzie can't play, if he does Calvert suits up on the fourth line tonight.

The Blue Jackets play in Vancouver tonight and wrap-up their road-trip on Monday in Toronto. He should be considered questionable for Wednesday against Nashville.

Bozak has missed the last 11 games, but could return tomorrow. His presence has been greatly missed as the Maple Leafs have had used some patchwork lineups in recent games with injuries to Bozak and Dave Bolland along with a suspension to fellow centreman Nazem Kadri. If Bozak plays, he is expected to jump right back on the first line with James van Riemsdyk and Phil Kessel. Monitor his status following Saturday's morning skate.

All signs point towards Green returning tonight and Steve Oleksy coming out, but head coach Adam Oates says he has to wait and see on Green and has not finalized his lineup. Green has missed the last three games, his 11 assists in 19 games will be a welcomed sight on the Capitals blueline and power-play.

Vanek missed the last five games - really six, since he left the November 9 loss in Columbus with a strained upper-body muscle after just 30 seconds. In his first six games as an Islander, Vanek has one goal and two assists. Expect the Austrian winger to get more comfortable with his new teammates and line-mates and start filling the stat sheet soon. He is expected to skate on the first line with Jonathan Tavares and Kyle Okposo.

All Red Wings beat reporters confirmed Howard to start tonight, but he came down with the flu and Jonas Gustavsson ended up getting the start. Monitor Howard's status prior to Saturday's contest vs. the Senators, it all depends how long the flu sticks around wether or not it will be Howard or 'The Monster' vs. Ottawa.

Burns has been scratched for the last 13 games, after taking a series of high hits that included a whack in the face from Ottawa goaltender Robyn Lehner on Oct. 12. He had four goals and four assists in his first eight games on a line with Thornton and Tomas Hertl, with seven of his eight points coming at even strength.

Korpikoski left Saturday's game in the third period and did not return. The injury is not believed to be serious and he could return on Saturday.

Michalek was injured in the first period on November 14 vs. Chicago. He is a staple on the Coyotes top-pair so his absence is a tough loss for Phoenix. Consider him questionable for Saturday's meeting with Anaheim.

Morris missed the last five games after being injured on November 5. Morries has had a strong start to the season scoring four goals and adding six assists in 14 games. His return will stabilize the Coyotes blueline.
Whitney did not skate on a line in the morning skate, so he is very likely out tonight. He will miss his fourth straight game after being injured on October 9. He remains on IR.

While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury.
