Drysdale was crushed by Jansen Harkins in Pittsburgh on Sunday and left the ice appearing to reach for his shoulder. It sounds like Drysdale could return this season, but he's expected to miss several weeks. Expect the team to release a detailed timetable in the upcoming days.

Milano was a late scratch for Monday's game, with the Capitals not announcing his absence until warmups began. Milano has six goals and five assists in 27 games this season.

Jensen is battling a lower-body injury and his status for Monday's game against the Ottawa Senators was up in the air, but he's ultimately been deemed out. In his last game, Jensen played 17:39 time-on-ice, recording two penalty minutes and three hits.

Mantha was a game-time decision on Monday due to the lower-body injury, but he appears to be good to go. While playing predominantly on a line with Aliaksei and Connor McMichael, Mantha has been productive lately, scoring five points (2G / 3A) in his last five games.

Zub did not play on Saturday and will miss a second straight game on Monday due to a lower-body injury. The hard-hitting defenseman had two points (0G / 2A), four shots, and 10 hits in his last four games before his injury.

Eichel has been out for six weeks since leaving the Golden Knights' game on January 11th with a knee injury and appears to be on cue to return from surgery at the late end of his four-to-six-week prognosis. He currently has 19 goals, 25 assists, 173 SOG, 10 PIMs and a +1 plus/minus through 42 games before his injury and will be a welcomed addition to a Golden Knights team that just lost Mark Stone indefinitely to an upper-body injury.

Keller was limited to only 8:16 time-on-ice in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets before exiting the contest with an upper-body injury. Keller's absence from the Coyotes' lineup is a devasting blow for a team amid a 12-game losing skid. Before his injury, Keller had produced three points (1G / 2A) in his last two games.

Faulk has not played since January 24th but appears to be nearing a return after being activated from LTIR. The 31-year-old had quiet production through the first half of the season with two goals, 19 points, 90 SOG, 10 PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 40 games played.

Liljeren has been producing while eating big minutes on the Maple Leafs' blueline lately, scoring seven points (0G / 7A) in his last six games while averaging 22:31 time-on-ice after averaging only 17:36 in his previous 10 games. The defenseman was forced to leave Toronto's game vs. Colorado on Saturday due to an undisclosed injury and will be a game-time decision on Tuesday after missing practice.

Seguin was replaced on the second line by Ty Dellandrea on Saturday, a move that will likely remain for the foreseeable future as he will be out of the lineup on a week-to-week basis. Before his injury, Seguin was enjoying his best campaign in several years with 45 points (20G / 25A) in 58 games. Seguin's injury allowed Logan Stankoven to make his NHL debut and play on a line with Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston.

Stenlund did not play on Saturday due to an illness but will return to the lineup on Monday against the Buffalo Sabres. The 27-year-old Stenlund has produced 13 points (9G / 4A) while averaging only 12:42 time-on-ice through 57 games this season.

Tkachuk was limited to only 5:39 time-on-ice before exiting Thursday's games against the Carolina Hurricanes with an undisclosed injury and subsequently did not play on Saturday against the Washington Capitals. Tkachuk was on a torrid pace before his injury, tallying 22 points (8G / 14A) in his previous 11 games.

Fehervary played only 1:36 time-on-ice in his last game on February 17th before exiting the game with a lower-body injury and will be out of the lineup on a week-to-week basis. The hard-hitting Slovak defenseman had 12 hits and one assist in his last four games.

Dowd left the Capitals' game on Tuesday vs. New Jersey with an upper-body injury after just 6:20 TOI and was placed on Injured Reserve Friday. The 33-year-old centre has been solid in his usual bottom-six role this season, with eight goals, 16 points, 45 SOG, 30 PIMs and +8 plus/minus through 45 games before his injury.

Oshie had to be helped off the ice after suffering a non-contact lower-body injury against the Tampa Bay Lightning last week. Head coach Spencer Carbery said that his level of concern for Oshie's injury was "fairly high" and after being evaluated has been confirmed out of the lineup on a week-to-week basis.

Jensen is battling a lower-body injury, and his status for Monday's game against the Ottawa Senators is up in the air. In his last game, Jensen played 17:39 time-on-ice, recording two penalty minutes and three hits.

While playing predominantly on a line with Aliaksei and Connor McMichael, Matha has been productive lately, scoring five points (2G / 3A) in his last five games. If he is unable to play, he will join T.J. Oshie and Nic Dowd as injured regulars from the Capitals forward core.

Skinner's departure from practice on Monday is a major concern for the Sabres, as he has missed several stints already this season with various injuries. The veteran winger has struggled offensively lately, scoring only three points (2G / 1A) in his last 12 games.

While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury. Some injuries are able to clear up in a matter of days, while others may take an athlete out of action for the entirety of a season.
