Kulemin has just one assist in six games this season and will be replaced by Ryan Pulock as the Islanders go with seven defenseman in New York tonight.
Pulock, 23, was a first round pick in 2013 and Islanders fans have been clamouring to get Pulock a full-time lineup spot, but he will make his season debut tonight as a seventh-defenseman. The 23-year-old had 46 points (15G / 31A) in 55 games with Bridgeport (AHL) last season but has just four points (2G / 2A) in 16 career NHL games. Pulock rotated with Johnny Boychuk on the top PP-unit in Wednesday’s practice.
Oleksiak was a healthy scratch in the last two games, but will get back into the lineup tomorrow in Arizona. Oleksiak has yet to record a point while averaging 16:46 TOI/GM in the first four games of the season. He will replace Julius Honka.
Honka appeared in the las four games, failing to record a point while averaging 15:35 TOI. Honka will be replaced by Jamie Oleksiak vs. the Coyotes.
Auger, 23, was a fourth round pick in 2013 and comes up to the NHL after picking up just four PIMS in three games with Ontario (AHL). He is not expected to bring a lot of offence to the table, having an AHL career-high of just 36 points (19G / 17A). What he certainly brings is size, standing in at 6-foot-7, 229 lbs.
Borgman has appeared in four games this season but was a healthy scratch in Washington last night. Borgman is expected to replace Calle Rosen and comes in with one assist this season.
Fehr has been in and out of the lineup, swapping places with Dominic Moore. Fehr has not recorded a point in three games and has no fantasy value.
Necas was the No.12 overall pick this summer and sat out the first three games of the season, but will make his debut tonight in Edmonton. Necas is a gifted offensive player, who collected 15 points (7G / 8A) in 41 games with Brno Kometa of the Czech league last season. Necas likely won’t stick with the Hurricanes, but he will get a chance to get some NHL experience under his belt and could see a handful of games. He has a some intrigue in daily contests tonight because he will be playing with Sebastian Aho and Elias Lindholm—a very dynamic trio that could make some noise vs. Oilers’ backup Laurent Brossoit.
Benn has not recorded a point but has 11 shots, five blocks and two hits while averaging 17:29 TOI/GM through the first five games of the season. His scratching likely has more to do with the Canadiens wanting to see what they have in Joe Morrow than it does with Benn playing poorly. Benn has posted a 62.7 CorsiFor% and a 7.1 relative Corsi so far, so they can’t be expecting much more out of him from a puck possession perspective.
Morrow, 24, was a first round pick in 2011 but has had a hard time sticking in NHL lineups. After spending three years in Boston, where he had just nine points (2G / 7A) in 65 games, Morrow is now with Montreal where he will replace Jordie Benn tonight. He has offensive upside, but has not shown it thus far.
Girard impressed in his three-game stint while Roman Josi was sidelined with a lower-body injury, but with the captain expected back tonight it looks like Girard will take a seat. The young offensive-minded blueliner recorded one goal and two assists in three games and looks like yet another great future Predators blueliner.
Rinaldo served a five-game suspension to start the season, but will get into the lineup on the Coyotes’ fourth-line tonight. Rinaldo has just 27 points and 655 PIMS in 275 career NHL games.
Harrington was a healthy scratch in the first four games of the season, but was a member of the blueline in Minnesota on Saturday. On Monday, the Blue Jackets recalled Markus Nutivaara from Cleveland and he will push Harrington back to the press box.
Nutivaara, 23, had seven points (2G / 5A) in 66 games with Columbus last season. He opened the season with Cleveland (AHL) before being recalled yesterday to take Gabriel Carlsson’s spot on the roster. Nutivaara is expected to replace Scott Harrington in the lineup tonight.
Tippett was the No.10 overall pick in this summer’s draft and tonight he will debut on the Panthers’ third line. The 18-year-old winger had 75 points (44G / 31A) in 60 games with Mississauga (OHL) last season and will play with Jared McCann and Jamie McGinn tonight.
Mueller was a healthy scratch in the last two games, but will draw back in for the first time since last Wednesday. Mueller has averaged 18:48 TOI/GM so far this season and has collected one assist, one hit and nine blocked shots in three games.
Lovejoy climbed into the Devils’ lineup on Saturday and recorded one assist in 15:54 TOI, but will be replaced by Mirco Mueller vs. the Lightning tonight.
