Czarnik only played 3:56 TOI in the season opener and will be a healthy scratch on Saturday. Tobias Rieder will replace him on the fourth line.

Rieder was signed after a PTO but sat out as a healthy scratch in the season opener. On Saturday, Reider will replace Austin Czarnik on the fourth line and will look to score his first NHL goal since April 5th, 2018.

Bortuzzo played just 12:15 TOI, recording one shot, in the Blues season opener but will be scratched in favour of Carl Gunnarsson on Saturday.

Gunnarsson was a healthy scratch in the Blues season opener but will draw-in for Robert Bortuzzo on Saturday. Gunnarsson, who had just seven points (3G / 4A) in 25 games last season, will skate on the top-pair with Alex Pietrangelo.

Sanford was a healthy scratch in the Blues season opener. With Robert Thomas (upper-body) out, Sanford will draw into the Blues lineup on a line with Tyler Bozak and Robby Fabbri.

Boedker sat out during the Senators season opener but will replace Filip Chlapik on Saturday. Boedker had 35 points (7G / 28A) while playing 14:11 ATOI in 71 games last season.

Chlapik had one assist in just 5:20 TOI in the Senators season opener. Chlapik took a bad penalty in the contest though and will be replaced by Mikkel Boedker on Saturday.

Malgin had two shots in 10:59 TOI in the season opener but Joel Quenneville will pull him from Saturday’s lineup. Malgin will be replaced by Jayce Hawryluk.

Hawryluk, 23, split his 2019 campaign between the AHL and NHL. During his time with the Panthers, he had seven goals and five assists (12 points) in 42 games. While with Springfield, he tallied 32 points (8G / 24A) in 31 games. He will replace Denis Malgin in the lineup on Saturday.

Holl skated just 9:07 TOI in his season debut on Saturday. Head coach Mike Babcock wanted to get Holl into the lineup, but Martin Marincin will replace him vs. Montreal on Saturday.

Petan had two shots on goal in 6:54 TOI in his season debut on Saturday but will be replaced by Dmytro Timashov on Saturday. The Maple Leafs are essentially holding fourth-line auditions and Petan should draw back into the lineup shortly.

Spezza had two shots on goal in 10:36 TOI in his Maple Leafs debut on Saturday. The fourth line rotation will continue vs. the Canadiens, with Nick Shore replacing Spezza.

Timashov had one assist in 8:50 TOI in his NHL debut on Wednesday but was a healthy scratch on Saturday. The fourth-line rotation will continue tonight with Timashov replacing Nic Petan.

Marincin played just 13:46 TOI in the Maple Leafs season opener but was replaced by Justin Holl on Friday night. He will draw back in on Saturday, skating on the third-pair with Rasmus Sandin.

Shore played 8:33 TOI in his Maple Leafs debut on Wednesday but was replaced by Jason Spezza last night. The Maple Leafs are essentially holding fourth-line auditions while Zach Hyman and Travis Dermott are out, so the player rotation will continue on Saturday.

Hague was picked in the second-round (No.34 overall) in 2017 and is set to replace Nate Schmidt (lower-body) in San Jose on Friday. The 20-year-old defenseman had 32 points (13G / 19A) in 75 games with Chicago (AHL) last year. Hague will play on the third pair and second power-play unit in his NHL debut.

Spezza signed a one-year deal with the Maple Leafs this summer and it looks like he will sit for Game 1 of 82. Nick Shore is expected to take his projected spot on the fourth-line and Trevor Moore will replace him on their second power-play unit.

Shore, who had 16 points in 37 KHL games last season, will make his Maple Leafs debut vs. Ottawa. Shore will centre the fourth line instead of Jason Spezza and has 53 points (15G / 38A) in 236 career NHL games with the Kings, Senators and Flames.

Rantanen missed training camp because of a contract holdout but was back on the ice with the Avalanche on Monday. After his first practice session, head coach Jared Bednar said that his star right-winger will play Thursday. Rantanen is scheduled to skate on the top-line with Nathan Mackinnon and Gabriel Landeskog and should have no issues topping 80 points for the third consecutive season.
