If You Like Goals… Look to the Panthers

Horton

The Panthers’ last four games look like this: Over-Under-Over-Over

Florida’s red-hot top line has combined for 21 points over their past four games, 3 of those were road games.  Tomas Vokoun has looked sharp in his last 3 starts, going 2-0-1 with a 2.32 GAA.  In Vokoun’s last start vs. Carolina on Nov. 4, he posted a shutout – but remember that was a Carolina team that was in a huge downward spiral.  The Panthers average 3.4 goals against per game on the season.

The Hurricanes’ last four games look like this: Over-Over-Over-Over

Carolina has averaged far more than their season average of 1.8 goals per road game on the season with an average of 2.5 goals per game over their last 4 road games.  We’re hoping Carolina can build off of a big home win against Dallas and find some success against their division rivals.  Cam Ward, while a definite boost to the Canes’ goalie situations, is still 0-6-3 with a 3.33 GAA on the season.  Overall, the Canes’ road defense on the season averages 3.8 goals against per game.

Pick: Over 5.5 goals -110

Based on their most recent play, these teams look set to go over.  Florida’s forwards are as the hottest tandem in the league right now and there’s no reason they can’t keep it up tonight.
