Ilya Kovalchuk: NHLPA Finally Files Grievance

At this point we know the summer of Ilya will still not come to a conclusion — meaning every other scoring winger on the market still waits for a team’s beckon call.

There seems to be some progress on the matter, however. According to Puck Daddy, the NHLPA filed a grievance with the league and will argue on behalf of the insane 17yr/102 million contract being actually fair game.

As fantasy owners, we hope for any team in the NHL besides the New Jersey Devils to sign the talented Russian but it seems like this hope is slowly fading away. We will keep you updated as quickly as the story breaks so sit tight as we anxiously await Kovalchuk officially remaining a Devil.
