Jeff Carter Out Until Playoffs

Jeff Carter broke his foot last night after blocking a Clarke MacArthur shot in the first period, he will miss three-to-four weeks.  This most recent injury hurts the Flyers’ chances of rising in the standings, especially with Johan Backlund and Brian Boucher manning the crease.

For the 97 percent of fantasy general managers who own Carter, likely lost their first or second string center.  Good news for the Flyers as the bone does not carry weight, but he likely will not play until the playoffs at best.  If you need to replace a top-line center, pivots like Scott Gomez, Martin Hanzal or Alex Steen may be available and have posted comparable stats over the last week.
