Jeff Carter signs 11 year extension with Flyers

Jeff Carter and the Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to an 11 year, Β 58 million dollar extension. Β The deal, which would last through Carter’s 37th birthday, carries approximately a 5.27 million cap hit– pretty reasonable for a former 46 goal scorer.

Through his first 16 games this season, Carter has done well with 14 points playing mostly with the recently re-signed Claude Giroux.

With Carter now signed the team can move on to retaining the surprising Ville Leino. Β The Flyers only have two UFA and three RFA forwards on their current roster as they enter next season; they have ensured their core up front would remain in tact with both re-signings this week.
