Johan Franzen returning against the Flames

UPDATE 10/21/20 @ 10:35 AM:  Franzen will return to the second line tonight when the team hosts the Calgary Flames.

UPDATE 10/15/10 @ 11:14 AM:  Initial news is Franzen out with a concussion.  He hopes to return to the lineup shortly, but these injuries remain a wildcard.

More bad news on the injury front for the Detroit Red Wings.

About midway through the first period, veteran right wing Johan Franzen left the game after taking an elbow to the head from Dallas Stars defenseman Mark Fistric.  According to Ansar Khan of, he will not return in the game.

We will give you an update as soon as we find out as the extent of the injury is unknown at this point.  One would have to assume Jiri Hudler or Dan Cleary will benefit from the brunt of his playing time.
