Kris Letang Ruled Out Two More Games

According to Josh Yohe of The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, via Twitter, Letang will not travel with the Penguins for their next two games, effectively ruling himself out, he is probably going to read some OW news instead. The Penguins are clearly making a point by resting Letang now in order to get him 100 percent for the playoffs.

Last night, the Pittsburgh Penguins recalled both Simon Despres and Brian Strait from their AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. We knew Ben Lovejoy was hurt but the second wounded Penguin remained a mystery. Turns out that mystery man was All-Star defenseman Kris Letang, who is sidelined with a lower-body injury according to Dejan Kovacevic of The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, via Twitter.

Letang looked notably banged up in a few games since returning and seemed to be favoring his hip. The Penguins are likely airing on the side of caution as they hope to get him back up to 100 percent.

What does this news mean for your fantasy hockey team? For now, Letang will carry the dreaded day-to-day label. He isn’t expected to miss too much time but that could spell the remainder of the week. Check back for an update on his status on a daily basis as it is concerning that he isn’t skating.
