Dion Phaneuf to miss 4 to 6 weeks

Update 11/3/10 @ 2:30 PM – The Leafs have announced that Phaneuf will be out of the lineup for the next four to six weeks after suffering a “deep leg laceration” that required surgery.

Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf exited tonight’s contest against the Ottawa Senators after suffering a leg injury during a collision with Peter Regin in the second period.  Take a look at the incident for yourself.

Phaneuf left the ice immediately and would not return to the game.  John Shannon of Sportsnet is reporting that Phaneuf has left The Air Canada Center on a stretcher with ice applied heavily to his left knee and is going for an MRI.

Dion has just four points this season along with a plus-minus rating of minus-6 through ten games.
