FanDuel promo: $150 Bet & Get
In most legal FanDuel states, you can sign up and bet $5 or more for $150 in bonus bets. However, to claim the bonus, your first bet must win. This offer has no minimum odds requirement, so you can take as heavy of a favorite as you would like to help secure your $150.
We typically recommend backing first bets at long odds, but this structure makes it imperative that we take a heavy favorite at short odds. A perfect example is if I wager $5 on Stars netminder Jake Oettinger not to record a shutout at -2000 odds. Because the implied odds of the wager winning are so high, we consequently have an excellent chance of recovering the $150 bonus.
If Oettinger doesn’t shut out the Oilers, we only get a $0.25 profit. However, we also claim the $150 in bonus bets. If we took a wager with far longer odds, we wouldn’t find ourselves in an optimal position for the FanDuel promo.

DraftKings promo: $1.5K first bet
You can get a $1.5K first bet insurance promo at DraftKings when you register. This offer is also called a “No Sweat Bet” opportunity. Place your first bet. If it loses, you receive bonus bets equal to what you lost that must be used within seven days of receipt. If the bet wins, you get the profit like usual.
For example, suppose I deposit and place my first bet for $500 on Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner to allow under 2.5 goals (+120). If Skinner succeeds, I receive $600 in profit. If Skinner fails, I will receive $500 in bonus bets as a refund.
