Letang returns tonight

Letang returns tonight

The Pittsburgh Penguins will get one of their best players back tonight when Kris Letang returns on the blueline.

Letang missed the Penguins last six games with a broken toe. Pittsburgh has been dealing with a multitude of injuries lately having two of their best defenseman, Letang and Paul Martin out. On top of missing those two on the back-end the NHL’s best player Sidney Crosby is out with a broken jaw and James Neal is out this week with a concussion. The scary thing is the Penguins are still 6-2-0 without Crosby in the lineup.

Letang was leading all NHL defenseman with 28 points in 28 games at the time he got injured. Despite playing 11 less games than Ryan Suter (2nd amongst NHL D-men w/ 29 pts.) and five less games than P.K Subban (1st w/ 32 pts.), Letang is just one point out of second and four points out of first. With Erik Karlsson out most of the year, Letang is the next best fantasy defenseman and his return in the middle of this final stretch will most definitely help your fantasy team.

Pittsburgh likely won’t limit him tonight. He will probably play close to his average of 25 minutes and will see ample power-play time. The Penguins take on the Lightning who rank 22nd in the NHL in goals allowed per game (2.92 GA/G) so their star-studded lineup should have no trouble scoring. Get Letang back in your lineup.
