Marchessault is “100 percent fine” for Game 2

Vegas Golden Knights’ winger Jonathan Marchessault is “100 percent fine” to play in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals according to Vegas head coach Gerard Gallant.

Marchessault left Game 1 in concussion protocol after being crushed by a controversial late hit from Washington Capitals’ forward Tom Wilson.

Many expected supplemental discipline for Wilson, who was already suspended for three games earlier in the playoffs, but the NHL’s Department of Player Safety did not fine or suspend him. Wilson, who recorded one goal, two shots and nine hits in the game, thought his hit was clean.

Marchessault registered one assist in Game 1, to give him the team-lead in both goals (8) and points (19) through the Golden Knights’ first 16 playoff games.
