Martin Gerber Returns to the NHL with Edmonton

With Nikolai Khabibulin, Jeff Deslauriers and Devan Dubnyk already under contract for next season, the Edmonton Oilers signed free agent netminder Martin Gerber.

Gerber may serve as a depth signing or thrust his way into a starting role. Outside of Khabibulin, who may not play at all next season, this Swiss goaltender has played in the most NHL games and could surpass Deslauriers and Dubnyk easily. Gerber has ten shutouts in 211 NHL games, winning a stanley cup in 2005-2006 in his one season in Carolina.

If your team relies on the Oilers goaltender you should look to upgrade.
