The New York Islanders have acquired defenceman Andy Greene in exchange for a second-round pick in 2021 and defenceman David Quenneville.

Greene, 37, the Devils captain, has played in 923 games with the Devils scoring 49 goals and 197 assists in that time. In 53 games this year, the veteran has two goals and nine assists.

Quenneville, 21, was a seventh-round pick of the Islanders in 2016. He’s split time between the American Hockey League, where he’s scored six points in 21 games, and the East Coast Hockey League, where he’s scored 23 points in 69 games.

He will report to the New Jersey’s AHL affiliate in Binghamton.
