On Saturday, 20 players were placed on waivers across the National Hockey League, making them available to the other 31 franchises.

The Colorado Avalanche put a handful of players on the wire, most notably forward Alex Barre-Boulet. The 28-year-old signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Avalanche, with the deal carrying an NHL cap hit of $775,000, a minor-league salary of $475,000, and $500,000 guaranteed. Barre-Boulet joined the organization after spending the 2024-25 campaign with the Montreal Canadiens, playing in just two games with the Habs. He spent most of the season with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket, scoring 22 goals and 41 assists for 63 points in 64 games.

In 70 career NHL games, the Montmagny, Que. native has scored 12 goals and six assists for 18 points.

Another player that seems to be joining the Colorado Eagles, the Avs’ primary affiliate, is Jason Polin. The former Western Michigan University standout signed a one-year contract to stay in Colorado after an injury-riddled 2024-25 campaign. Polin was limited to just 39 games, but was still able to score 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points, his highest point total in a single AHL season in his young pro career.

Polin has played nine games with the Avalanche, including two last season. The Holt, Mich. native has just one goal in his NHL career.

The Toronto Maple Leafs put forward Travis Boyd on waivers as well. The Hopkins, Minn. native came to the Original Six franchise on a one-year contract. He spent the 2024-25 season with the Minnesota Wild organization, playing three games with Minnesota. He spent most of the season with the team’s top farm team, the Iowa Wild, potting 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 points in 63 games.

In 299 NHL contests, Boyd has scored 47 goals and 71 assists for 118 points.
