The four nations have touched ground in Montreal, practised and figured out their line combinations. All that’s left to settle: the games. The puck drops Wednesday night on the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off when Canada locks horns with Sweden at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The teams competing will play a round-robin, with Canada, Finland, Sweden and the U.S. facing each other once apiece, after which the top two teams will meet in a one-game final.

How do we expect things to play out? Here’s a breakdown of our predictions for Round-Robin standings, finalists and winner.

Almost unanimously, we view the tournament as a two-horse race between Canada and the U.S. The vote leans to the Americans in the Round-Robin, as many of us predict their superior all-around depth wins out. But most of us believe Canada’s star power and winning experience will tip the scales in the final. We expect the Swedes, while underrated, will finish third, and none of us expects Finland to overcome its D-corps injuries. The Finns are a consensus fourth.
