Nashville Predators defenseman Adam Wilsby left Saturday’s game against the Dallas Stars and did not return after sustaining a lower-body injury.

The Predators announced the change in Wilsby’s status on Saturday evening. The Stockholm, Sweden product logged 5:48 of ice time over eight shifts before exiting early in the second period.

Wilsby, 25, has one goal and 12 points while averaging 16:37 of ice time in 45 games with the Predators this season. The Stars defeated the Predators in overtime by a 3-2 final score at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday.

A fourth-round pick (No. 101 overall) of the Predators in the 2020 NHL Draft, Wilsby is currently in the midst of his first full season as an NHL regular. The 6’1″ lefty has primarily skated on a pairing with Nick Perbix in recent games.

The Predators drafted Wilsby out of the Skelleftea AIK program in his native Sweden. Wilsby initially came to North America at the tail end of the 2021-22 season and emerged as a full-time AHL defenseman with the Milwaukee Admirals over the following two years, helping the club go on deep playoff runs in 2023 and 2024.

Wilsby made his NHL debut with the Predators in the 2024-25 season, collecting one goal and five points in his first 23 games with the big club. Late in the year, Wilsby signed a two-year contract extension with the Predators that carries a $775,000 cap hit for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons.

Through his first 68 career games with the Predators over the past two seasons, Wilsby has amassed two goals, 17 points, and 35 penalty minutes. He has yet to make an appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

After their overtime loss to the Stars on Saturday, the Predators currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference with a 27-24-8 record and 62 points in 59 games.
