The Anaheim Ducks announced Wednesday that forward Frank Vatrano will be out for approximately six weeks due to a should fracture suffered during their game against the Los Angeles Kings last Saturday.

Vatrano missed the team’s game on Monday against the San Jose Sharks with what the team called an upper-body injury.

Through 38 games in 2025-26, Vatrano has three goals and three assists for six points and 36 penalty minutes. Now in his fourth season with the Ducks, the 31-year-old winger has 83 goals and 69 assists for 152 points in 282 regular-season games. He signed a three-year, $18-million contract extension last January that kicked in this season.

In 11 NHL seasons, Vatrano, a native of East Longmeadow, Mass., has 184 goals and 138 assists for 322 points in 683 career regular-season games with the Ducks, the Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. His best offensive season came in 2018-19 as a member of the Panthers, where he scored 24 goals and 15 assists for 39 points.

Vatrano also has played in 34 Stanley Cup Playoff games, where he’s scored seven goals and nine assists for 16 points.

An undrafted free agent, Vatrano spent one full season playing college hockey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he scored 18 goals and 10 assists for 28 points in 36 games.

After signing a three-year, entry-level contract with the Bruins, he spent his first professional season in 2015-16 split between Boston and their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins. In 36 AHL games that season, he scored 36 goals and 19 assists for 55 points.

The Ducks are 21-16-2 with 44 points in 39 games through the 2025-26 season, second in the Pacific Division and sixth in the Western Conference. Following Wednesday’s game, the Ducks will host the Minnesota Wild Friday night.
