The Anaheim Ducks have locked up one of their two 2026 first-round draft picks.

On Wednesday, the Ducks signed winger Marcus Nordmark to his three-year, entry-level contract.

Anaheim selected Nordmark with the 28th overall pick of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. He was the second pick of the Ducks’ 2026 draft class, as they took winger Nikita Klepov at 15th overall.

Nordmark, 18, split time last season between Djurgardens IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), Sweden’s top professional hockey league, and Djurgardens Jr., Djurgardens IF’s under-20 affiliate in U20 Nationell. With Djurgardens IF, he had just one assist in eight games. WIth Djurgardens Jr., he notched an impressive 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points in 25 games, followed by six goals and 17 assists for 23 points in 11 playoff games en route to Djurgardens Jr. winning the Anton Cup as Sweden’s junior hockey champions.

In the 2024-25 season, the Stockholm native registered nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 17 games for Djurgardens Jr. He then contributed three goals and an assist for four points in five playoff games as Djurgardens Jr. won their first of two consecutive Anton Cup championships.

In his final pre-draft prospect ranking, Daily Faceoff prospect analyst Steven Ellis had Nordmark as the 52nd best player in the 2026 draft class. Ellis wrote that “Nordmark blends high-end skill and hockey sense to create high-quality chances in the offensive zone. He routinely picks apart opponents in his own age group and has been truly dominant internationally. But scouts are worried that he’s a ghost defensively and that if he doesn’t control play offensively, he won’t be good enough to crack the NHL. He has lazy habits that get him into trouble under pressure and it doesn’t feel like he’s taken enough steps forward to fix that throughout the year. So he’s polarizing, which isn’t surprising for a 17-year-old with so much room to grow. Is he legit? Scouts aren’t sure yet.”
