Ducks’ Troy Terry activated from IR, expected to return against Golden Knights

A talented scorer is set to return to action.
On Sunday, the Anaheim Ducks activated forward Troy Terry from injured reserve. He’s expected to be in the lineup for that night’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
To make room for Terry, the Ducks placed forward Leo Carlsson on injured reserve.

Terry has been out of action since Jan. 6 due to an upper-body injury, though it was never revealed when exactly he was hurt. He was placed on IR a little over a week later in order to make room for a returning Cutter Gauthier.
In the 11 games that Terry missed, Anaheim was able to stay afloat in the race for a playoff spot. The team went 7-4-0, though it dropped back-to-back contests, including this past Thursday against the Vancouver Canucks.
Even in his extended absence, the Denver native remains one of the team’s top offensive weapons. In 43 appearances, he has notched 13 goals and 29 assists for 42 points, good for fourth on the Ducks in scoring.
Carlsson has been out of action for the past few weeks after undergoing surgery on his left thigh to treat a Morel-Lavallée lesion. His original timeline listed him out for 3-5 weeks. The recovery wasn’t as fast as the 21-year-old would’ve hoped, as he had to be replaced on Sweden’s men’s Olympic roster by Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Johansson.
In 44 games, Carlsson has scored 18 goals and 26 assists for 44 points. Despite having missed the last nine games, he remains second on the team in scoring behind Gauthier.
The Ducks (28-23-3) came into Sunday fifth in the Pacific Division, sitting just outside the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
