Anaheim Ducks forward Troy Terry is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and did not dress for Friday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Ducks announced the reason for Terry’s absence on Friday evening through their official social media channels. With Terry injured, the Ducks elected to dress Ian Moore as a seventh defenseman against the Jets.

Terry, 28, has 13 goals and 45 points in 46 games with the Ducks this season, enough to tie Beckett Sennecke for third on the club in scoring behind Cutter Gauthier and Leo Carlsson. The Denver, Colo. product recorded an assist and logged 13:52 of ice time in the Ducks’ 6-5 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.

The Ducks entered Friday’s game at the Honda Center in Anaheim with a 31-23-3 record and 65 points through 57 games, good for third place in the Pacific Division and sixth in the Western Conference.

A fifth-round pick (No. 148 overall) of the Ducks in the 2015 NHL Draft, Terry spent his first three post-draft seasons at the University of Denver. He also played for Team USA at the 2017 IIHF World Championship and the 2018 Winter Olympics before turning pro and making his NHL debut late in the 2017-18 season.

Terry firmly established himself as a top-six forward in Anaheim’s lineup during the 2021-22 season, in which he set career highs that stand to this day with 37 goals and 67 points in 75 games. In 2023, the Ducks signed Terry to a new seven-year contract worth $7 million per season.

Through 473 games over parts of nine seasons with the Ducks, Terry has amassed 129 goals and 330 points. He has yet to appear in the Stanley Cup Playoffs during his NHL career, as the Ducks last qualified for the postseason in 2018.
