Antti Niemi Returning from… ‘Minor’ Injury

UPDATE: Looks like Niemi took a shot off an, ahem, ‘sensitive’ area reports Pollak via Twitter. Ouch.

San Jose Sharks starting goalie Antti Niemi will not start tonight due to a minor injury according to David Pollak’s Working the Corners. At this point, the extent of his injury is unknown.

In the meantime, Thomas Greiss will take over between the pipes with rookie Tyson Sexsmith backing him up. Greiss may be a decent short-term option with Niemi sidelined.
