Stars sign Aram Minnetian to three-year, entry-level contract

The Dallas Stars have signed defense prospect Aram Minnetian to a three-year, entry-level contract, the club announced Tuesday afternoon.
Minnetian, 21, spent the past three seasons at Boston College, most recently collecting two goals and 11 points and finishing with a plus-15 rating in 36 games as a junior in 2025-26. The Stars originally selected Minnetian in the fourth round (No. 125 overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft.
A 6′, 209-pound right-shot defender, Minnetian played for Team USA at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship, collecting two assists in six games to help the Americans win gold.
Minnetian’s entry-level deal with the Stars will take effect with the 2026-27 season. Until then, the Woodcliff Lake, N.J. product will report to the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars.

Minnetian came up through the Bergen Catholic High School system in New Jersey before spending two seasons in the U.S. National Team Development Program, playing primarily on their U17 team in 2021-22 before making the jump to the U18 team in 2022-23. Also in 2023, Minnetian played for Team USA at the IIHF World U18 Championship, winning gold.
After being drafted by the Stars, Minnetian began his NCAA career at Boston College and helped the Eagles win the Hockey East playoffs in his freshman year. The Eagles also finished with the best record in Hockey East in Minnetian’s first two seasons at the school.
In 111 NCAA games over three years at Boston College, Minnetian collected seven goals and 35 points while finishing with an impressive plus-46 rating. He also racked up a total of 83 penalty minutes over his career with the Eagles and tied for the team lead in blocked shots in his junior year.
The Stars currently rank second in the Central Division with a 43-16-11 record and 97 points through 70 games this season. They’ll return to action on Tuesday evening to take on Minnetian’s hometown New Jersey Devils.
