Tage Thompson (BUF) — ov3.5 SOG (-150)

Thompson has gone over 3.5 SOG in three of five games (60.0%) so far this season. He’s also coming off a game in which he had 10 shots on goal vs. the Islanders on Saturday. After hitting the net 295 times last season, Thompson has increased his shot attempts by 15.1 percent to start 2024. He’s currently averaging eight shot attempts per game and 4.8 shots on goal. I’ll take the over, even juiced up at -150. Montreal comes in giving up the sixth-most shots against (34.2/gm) in the NHL this season.

Alex Tuch (BUF) — un2.5 SOG (-110)

Tuch has had a really slow start to the season, picking up just one assist and seven shots on goal in five games. It’s not just what’s hitting the net for Tuch, his shot attempts are down 30.6 percent from last season. Tuch was also just dropped from Thompson’s line, to the second line and played his fewest minutes (15:19) of the season on Saturday. Until we see him increase his shot attempts closer to the volume he had in 2023, I’ll take Tuch under 2.5 SOG at -110. He has been under 2.5 in all five games this season.
