Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!

There’s nothing better in sports than game seven, and Sunday night featured two marquee game sevens that didn’t go the way many expected.

Starting in Boston, a seesaw affair saw the Panthers take an early 2-0 lead before Boston answered with three straight. It looked like Boston punched their ticket to round two, but a late third period goal from Brandon Montour tied the game up at three apiece.

Florida was clearly the better team in overtime, Jeremy Swayman made a couple point blank season-saving quality saves for Boston, but Carter Verhagee finally beat the Boston goalie and sent the Panthers to the second round.

Boston not only lost in round one despite having the best record in NHL history, but they also blew a 3-1 lead in the series. This was truly one of the biggest upsets in NHL history.

Moving over to Denver, where the NHL’s newest franchise led the entire game as off-season pickup Oliver Bjorkstrand scored both goals for the Seattle Kraken as they upset the defending cup champion Colorado Avalanche 2-1.

Colorado looked like they tied the game early in the third period but Nathan Mackinnon’s goal was turned back after an offside challenge by Seattle. Former Avalanche goalie Phillip Grubauer then shut the door and got his revenge.

Monday only has one game on schedule, but it’s a big one as the New Jersey Devils host the New York Rangers. Here is a goalie bet I like for tonight’s game.

Player Prop

Igor Shesterkin to make over 29.5 saves at -125.

Sheshterkin is fresh off a 34-save effort in Saturday night’s must-win game for the Rangers and has averaged 35.5 saved in his last two games.

In a must-win game, expect the Devils, who ranked fourth in the league in shots during the regular season, to pepper Sheshterkin and don’t expect the reigning Vezina winner to back down.

Last Game Bet

Jeremy Swayman to make under 29.5 saves at -115

Swayman was stellar for the Bruins in overtime but made only 27 saves meaning we got it right and moved our record to 2-1 for the playoffs.
