Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!

The only game on schedule on Tuesday night was a game seven clash between the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers, two cross-state rivals vying for a spot among the NHL’s final eight teams.

Micheal McLeod and Tomas Tatar’s first period goals were all the offense the New Jersey Devils needed as the story of the playoffs, Akira Schmid, made 31 saves in the Devils’ 4-0 win and earned a rare game seven shutout.

New Jersey will take on the Carolina Hurricanes in round two. On the other side of the Eastern Conference bracket are the surprising Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs. In the West, the Vegas Golden Knights will host the Edmonton Oilers and the Dallas Stars will battle the Seattle Kraken.

Tonight will feature two game ones, here is a goalie prop I like for tonight’s game.

Goalie Prop

Ilya Samsonov to make under 29.5 saves at -118.

Yes, Florida led the league in shots this year during the regular season but those numbers haven’t exactly sustained during the playoffs.

In their four road games these playoffs they have averaged 29.25 shots per game and Ullmark and Swayman Boston’s goalies averaged 25.75 saves in that span which is well below the 29.5 mark.

Toronto also ranked in the top 10 league wide in shots against per game in the regular season and Ilya Samsonov only made over 29.5 saves once in three home games in round one against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Last Game Bet

Igor Shesterkin to make over 29.5 saves at -125.

Shesterkin only made 20 saves as New Jersey’s early lead hampered their ability to direct pucks on net, or in other words, score effects took place.

Our record on the season is now 2-2.
