Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!

The Carolina Hurricanes became the first team to advance to the conference finals in the NHL, as Jesper Fast scored his fifth goal of the playoffs in overtime to defeat the New Jersey Devils in game five.

Frederik Andersen made 27 saves on 29 shots to lead Carolina to victory. Akira Schmid gave New Jersey a shot making 36 saves on 39 shots, but it wasn’t enough. Carolina will play the winner of Florida and Toronto in the eastern conference finals.

In the west, the Dallas Stars won their second straight game to take a 3-2 series lead over the Seattle Kraken, the Stars are one win away from being in their second conference finals in three years.

Roppe Hintz continued to stay red hot for the Stars scoring his sixth and seventh goal for Dallas and was named the first star of the game. Jake Oettinger made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Both Canadian team have crucial games on Friday, the Leafs are looking to stay alive for the second straight game as they return home for game five down 3-1. William Nylander and Mich Marner scored their first goal of the series in game three, for Toronto to force a game six other core members like Auston Matthews and John Tavares will need to do the same.

The Oilers will have to play game five without key defender Darnell Nurse who has been suspended for instigating a fight in the final five minutes of game four. Vegas will also be without a key defender in Alex Pietrangelo who was suspended for a late slash on Leon Draisaitl. Edmonton will look to take their first lead of the series.

Here is a goalie prop I like for one of tonight’s games.

Goalie Prop

Sergei Bobrovsky to make over 29.5 saves at -118.

The Toronto Maple Leafs at home with their season on the line and some momentum from a game four victory. I fully expect an onslaught of shots from them and it’s on Bobrovsky to hold the fort down for Florida.

Bobrovsky has averaged over 30 saves in his last seven starts and I like that trend to continue tonight.
