Blues place Justin Faulk, Scott Perunovich on IR, recall Zach Bolduc

The St. Louis Blues made a number of roster transactions on Tuesday, announcing that defenseman Justin Faulk would be placed on Long-Term Injury Reserve (LTIR) with a lower-body injury and defenseman Scott Perunovich would be placed on Injured Reserve (IR), also with a lower-body injury.

To replace them, the team called up defenseman Zach Bolduc from its AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Through 40 games this season, Faulk has two goals and 17 assists for 19 points. In 882 games, Faulk has 126 goals and 289 assists for 415 points in 882 career games with the Blues and Carolina Hurricanes.

Meanwhile, Perunovich has 12 assists in 31 games. Now in his second NHL season, he’s played 50 career games and recorded 18 assists. Through three seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Perunovich scored 20 goals and 85 assists for 105 points.

As for Bolduc, 20, he is in his first professional season, scoring eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 48 games with the Thunderbirds. During his last two seasons of junior with the QMJHL’s Quebec Remparts, the No. 17 overall pick of the 2021 NHL Draft scored 105 goals and 104 assists for 209 points, including 110 points in 2022-23.

The Blues next game is Thursday at home against the New York Islanders, then Saturday on the road against the Detroit Red Wings. Going into Feb. 20, the Blues are 29-24-2 with 60 points, fourth in the Central Division and currently holding onto the No. 2 Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
