St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced the club has re-signed Scott Perunovich to a one-year, $1.15 million contract extension.

Perunovich is coming off a one-year, $775,000 contract he signed with the Blues last summer.

The 25-year-old notched 17 assists in 54 games this season and was a plus-12.

Perunovich missed six months to start last season with a shoulder injury, and as a result did not get into any NHL games during the 2022-23 season but he did play 22 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he had two goals, 18 assists, and 20 points. The Hibbing, Minnesota native has appeared in 73 NHL games with the Blues, recording 23 assists. He has appeared in seven Stanley Cup playoff contests, collecting four assists.

Perunovich was a second round pick for the Blues in 2018, and has spent his career so far in the organization. He played two seasons of college with the University of Minnesota-Duluth after he was drafted, and then made his pro debut splitting time between the NHL and AHL in 2021-22.

St. Louis finished fifth in the Central Divison with a 43-33-6 record and 92 points. They trailed seven points back of the Nashville Predators.
