Boston Bruins sign Brandon Carlo to six-year contract extension

The Boston Bruins have signed defenceman @Brandon Carlo to a six-year contract extension worth $4.1-million, the club announced Wednesday.
Carlo, 24, was drafted by the Bruins in the second round of the 2015 draft and has appeared in 324 games for the team.
In them, he’s scored just 15 goals and 40 assists, but it’s his defensive game where he excels.
According to hockeyviz.com, Carlo provides even-strength defense at a five percent rate above league average. His WAR at even-strength defense and the penalty kill put him in the 82nd and 77th percentiles, respectively.
While he found himself largely playing against bottom-six competition, he still drove play against all types of competition this year.
The #NHLBruins re-signed 24 y/o RFA RD Brandon Carlo to 6 year $4.1M Cap Hit Deal.
