Fleet place Zoe Boyd on LTIR; activate Riley Brengman

The Boston Fleet announced Friday that defender Zoe Boyd has been placed on long-term injured reserve. The team also announced that defender Riley Brengman have been activated off LTIR.

In a press release, the team said Boyd suffered a lower-body injury this week during practice. She joined the team in the summer after spending her first two PWHL seasons with the Ottawa Charge.

In 12 games this season, Boyd has one assist, 16 blocked shots and a team-leading 24 hits while averaging 17:17. Now in her third PWHL campaign, Boyd has seven assists in 51 career regular-season games.

She’s also played in eight PWHL playoff games and was part of the Charge’s run to the Walter Cup Final against the Fleet last spring.

Before turning pro, Boyd spent five seasons playing college hockey with Quinnipiac University. In her senior campaign, where she served as captain, she recorded three goals and 11 assists for 14 points.

In 135 career NCAA games, Boyd had nine goals and 42 assists for 51 points.

Meanwhile, Brengman, who Boston took in the fourth round of the 2025 PWHL Draft, was placed on LTIR retroactive to Jan. 20 with an upper-body injury.

In 13 games, she has two goals and is averaging 19:09 of ice time.

In five seasons with The Ohio State Buckeyes, she recorded 14 goals and 48 assists for 62 points in 171 career NCAA games. In her senior season, she had four goals and 15 assists for 19 points.

The Fleet are 8-2-2-2 with 30 points through 14 games, first in the PWHL standings.
