Boston defeated the Buffalo Beauts to win the first-ever Isobel Cup back in 2016 in what used to be called the National Women’s Hockey League. The Pride won again in 2021, taking down the Minnesota Whitecaps. All told, Boston has won three of the six Isobel Cups that have been awarded.
The Pride finished the 2021-22 PHF season third in the league standings with a 10-5-5 record. They took down the Beauts in the first round, then beat the second-seeded Toronto Six in the second round, before winning the finals against Connecticut, who finished first in the standings.
Playing three games in four days, Boston outscored their opponents by an impressive 15-to-3 margin during the playoffs.
