UPDATE: Senators vs. Maple Leafs Rescheduled for November 9

Brent Wallace of TSN tweets that the NHL has decided to reschedule the postponed Maple Leafs and Senators game for Sunday, November 9th at 6 P.M ET.

The NHL has postponed Wednesday’s game between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs because of an on-going situation at Parliament in Ottawa.

A soldier was shot and killed at the National War Memorial in Ottawa this morning and the situation remains fluid in downtown Ottawa. The Maple Leafs reportedly are on lockdown in their hotel which is believed to be very close to Parliament Hill.

It is an absolutely devastating story and the NHL deemed it was necessary to postpone the game. The postponement is out of respect for the fallen solider as well as for the safety of players and fans alike.

According to Elliotte Friedman of CBC, no makeup date has been announced.
