BREAKING: The NHL Season has been Suspended
Mar 12, 2020, 13:46 EDT

Due to the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the NHL has officially paused the 2020 season.
Following in the footsteps of the NBA, the NHL has suspended their season following a Board of Governors meeting on Thursday. At this point, the NHL plans on resuming the season but there is no timeline for that to happen.
There has been no decision made on whether the NHL will shorten the season, go right into playoffs or anything beyond simply pausing the season as of Thursday. Due to the lockout in 2013, the NHL didn’t start the playoffs until April 30th, so a delayed season is entirely possible at this moment. However, this is a very fluid situation.
