The New York Islanders will be without second-line center Brock Nelson after the forward suffered an lower-body injury.
Nelson was injured sometime during Sunday’s 3-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. He played 6:58 all in the first period, but didn’t return to the Islanders bench for the second.
The Islanders are also in the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak. The team has confirmed seven players are in protocol: Josh Bailey, Anders Lee, Ross Johnston, Adam Pelech, Andy Greene, Kiefer Bellows and the latest in Zdeno Chara, who entered protocols Tuesday.
The club announced the recalls of Anatoly Golyshev and Thomas Hickey from their AHL affiliate.
After starting the year 5-2-2, the team has skidded to a six game losing streak.
