Bruins and Senators swap Zach Senyshyn, Josh Brown and picks in trade

A pair of Atlantic Division rivals, the Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins, have hooked up on a trade.
The Sens are sending defenseman Josh Brown and a conditional seventh-round draft pick to Boston in exchange for Zach Senyshyn and a fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft.

— Sens Communications (@Media_Sens) March 21, 2022Brown is a big, physical defender who gives the Bruins some added depth on the blueline. He carries a $1.2million cap hit and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
Senyshyn, a native of Ottawa, was one of the three controversial first-round picks that the Bruins made in 2015 when they selected 13th, 14th, and 15th overall, leaving names such as Mat Barzal, Thomas Chabot and Kyle Connor on the table.
Through 14 games in the NHL, Senyshyn has produced one goal and three points. He has 31 points through 51 games for the Providence Bruins, Boston’s AHL affiliate, this season.
Given the Sens are in a rebuilding mode, they can provide Senyshyn with more of an opportunity to play at the NHL level than the Bruins did.
Senyshyn is on a one-year contract worth $750,000 and is a Group VI UFA at the end of the season.
