Buffalo Sabres’ defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was ejected from Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers after the Sabres’ captain delivered a hit from behind on forward Trevor Zegras.

The incident occurred late in the second period with the puck in the Sabres’ end. After Zegras’ shot ended up in the corner, he followed up and cycled it down low, with Dahlin finishing his check on the Flyers’ forward. A scrum would ensue with officials putting the Sabres’ defender in the penalty box.

After a video review, Dahlin was given a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct.

Dahlin finished the night with a minus-one rating, one shot and 15 penalty minutes in 16:34 of ice time. Meanwhile, Zegras scored a goal and had four shots in 14:19 of ice time.

The Flyers would go on to win 5-2.
